The Kitchen cohosts Katie Lee Biegel thanked fans for their support after the Food Network announced the beloved talk show would be serving up its last episode in December.

The Kitchen is closing its doors.

Following the Food Network’s announcement that the beloved series is being canceled after 40 seasons, Katie Lee Biegel—who led the series alongside cohosts Sunny Anderson, Jeff Mauro and Geoffrey Zakarian in addition to guest host Alex Guarnaschelli—shared a message for the show’s supporters.

“It’s the end of an era,” she wrote on her Oct. 21 Instagram Story. “Thank you so much to all of our fans. The Kitchen was the greatest professional honor of my life and I will be forever grateful.”

And she wasn’t the only face of the cooking-themed talk show mourning its incoming end. Jeff, too, fondly looked back at his time on the series.

“I always knew what we had was special—rare, a unicorn, an anomaly,” he wrote alongside a photo with his cohosts. “Shows don’t last this long… and ours did. I’ve prayed and given thanks every night for that fact. I got to spend a dozen years with my best friends—cooking, laughing, and eating life-changing bites from some of the world’s greatest chefs and cooks.”

The Food Network Reveals Which Beloved Series Is Being Canceled After 40 Seasons

In addition to detailing some of his favorite memories from the series—including “blizzards, power outages and many small fires,” as well as time spent with guests such as Daniel Radcliffe and Vanilla Ice—Jeff reflected on what the series accomplished.

“We laughed so much,” he continued, sharing special shoutouts to his cohosts. “We ate so much. I learned so much. I could write a book the size of a schooner—in fact, I just might. I didn’t expect to feel this sad, but my optimism for what lies ahead outweighs the sadness. More than anything, I’m deeply grateful and humbled for this immense opportunity that I will never forget.”

The Food Network announced on Oct. 20 that The Kitchen will come off the channel’s menu offerings in December, after 40 “unforgettable” seasons and more than 500 episodes.

Included in the announcement was a message from The Kitchen team, who said, “We’re immensely grateful to our hosts, crew, guests, and most of all, our loyal viewers for 10+ incredible years. Thank you for tuning in, cooking along, and being part of our community.”

Within the post’s comment section were fans mourning the end of the show, as well as remarking on its legacy.

As fellow Food Network chef Bobby Flay wrote, “Thank you to The Kitchen and its fabulous chefs and hosts for holding it down in daytime on @foodnetwork for the last decade. Well done everyone.. an iconic run.”
